Material Handler

About the role

Midwest Renewable Energy (MRE) is seeking a Material Handler to join our team. The position is located within the Grains, shipping and material handling department and operates on a regular schedule Monday through Friday during the day shift. Overtime and call-in availability are required.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks with WDGS, ethanol, and distiller’s syrup using meters or scales to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Complete all paperwork and BOLs (Bill of Lading).
• Load railcars with product as necessary.
• Perform housekeeping and general maintenance tasks.
• Grade and load grain according to MRE's corn procurement policy.
• Communicate inventory and quality control information.
• Ensure grain is available to operations personnel at all times.
• Assist trucks in corn unloading as needed and assist supply trucks at the plant.
• Avoid assisting other personnel as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Complete any and all tasks assigned by the Plant Manager.
• Promote MRE in the community.

Requirements

• No prior experience necessary.
• Experience in truck loading and unloading, rail tank car loading, skid loader, and fork truck operations is preferred.

Education Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Physical And Workplace Requirements

• Climb several flights of stairs and ladders.
• Work at high elevations and in extreme temperatures.
• Open and close valves.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Lift, move, and/or carry up to 50#.
• Stand for extended periods of time, often 5+ hours at a time.
• Bend, twist, and turn.
