Third Shift: 11:00pm to 7:00am. Shift Premium: $1.50/hr.
About the Role
Performs a variety of activities involved in the overall running of the production facility. Primary responsibilities include monitoring all phases of the slitter support group to maintain safety and quality while performing tasks efficiently and productively.
Responsibilities
- Identify each individual roll coming off the slitter with the proper pre-designated number representing the web location.
- Carry out all verbal and written instructions.
- Complete all paperwork and data entry accurately.
- Pick/Pack orders as needed for operating and shipping.
- Monitor deviations in materials and running conditions; make corrections with crew assistance and report deviations to the proper supervisor.
- Participate as part of the crew in following environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards and regulations.
- Perform all 5S activities as assigned in the time frame provided per procedures.
- Perform other duties as required, including assisting in preparation and packaging.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Finishing DC Manager or Lead Operator.
- Must maintain and account for assigned tools and equipment.
- Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts in a production environment.
- Perform pre-start lift safety checklists, crane safety checklist, and shift passovers.
- Attend all safety training and monthly meetings.
- Contribute to the Hazard Identification program.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience supporting a manufacturing facility preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of each machine station prior to obtaining helper status.
- Willing and available to train on all Finishing equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift, or crawl.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Forklift Operator's license or ability to pass required training.
- Ability to use basic computer system hardware and software.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with various levels of plant personnel.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
Work Environment
This position works in the production facility. Reflective clothing, eye and foot protection are mandatory, and hearing protection is required in specified areas.
