Material Handler

Job Description The Material Handler performs a combination of product handling and lift truck operating duties to stack, transport, and store work-in-process and finished goods. This position is responsible for maintaining the unloading of all inbound freight, identifying, labeling, weighing, and placing material into racks/storage accordingly. This role will support the loading of outbound freight daily when necessary and will use a handheld device to perform daily tasks. Follow all established safety, health and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practicesPerform a safety lift truck inspection and battery check and report any equipment malfunctioning or damageLoad and unload trucks using a forkliftVerify paperwork matches physical freight receivedRe-stack materials on new skids as needed for safe storageMaintain paperwork for inventory controlWork hand in hand with the receiving clerk to manage all daily receiving activitiesUpdate computerized inventory dataOperate stand-up lifts or sit-down forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work areaCross-train to increase the knowledge, flexibility, and efficiency of the overall ITW teamMaintain good housekeeping standardsContributes to team effort by focusing on continuous improvement and success for the entire teamAll other duties as assigned by manager ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
