Material Handler

40 hours/week, Monday through Friday. First or second shift with flexible hours, including overtime and Saturdays.

About the role

Receiving, organizing, packaging, quality control, stock, and customer material.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally with customers and vendors.
• Load customer vehicles safely.
• Grind and clean parts to a satisfactory condition.
• Load plates safely on burn tables.
• Read micrometers and check burn parts for quality.
• Load and unload trucks and racks using forklift or overhead crane.
• Clean equipment, machinery, and work areas.
• Tie, band, and wrap product in bundles for further processing or shipment, following prescribed procedure.
• Examine product to verify conformance to company standards.
• Mark correct information on material to properly identify it per current process.
• Read and understand work orders, work instructions, and other types of paperwork.
• Identify materials by type, size, and grade.
• Correctly use the timekeeping system.
• Complete various types of paperwork with 95% accuracy.
• Maintain efficiency evaluation of at least 90%.
• Maintain quality evaluation of at least 90%.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Able to perform each essential duty at a minimum satisfactory level.
• Required education, experience, job-related characteristics, and specialized skills/certifications.

Physical Demands

• Climb ladders.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Factory setting; exposure to hot and cold temperatures and noisy conditions.
• Able to lift 80 lbs.
