Material Handler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• To follow basic written and/or oral instructions from the supervisor and/or lead person
• To communicate and work with various departments as required to determine needs
• To move parts, assemblies, blanks and pallets to and from locations and work stations as required to maintain normal production flow
• To use judgment in determining the placement and movement of materials and band materials for storage or shipping as required
• To use system to make warehouse transfers when moving materials and finished goods
• To help maintain correct inventory by picking or transferring material or parts in a timely manner
• To maintain storage areas in a clean, orderly manner
• To load and unload semi-trailers as needed along with moving bunks of raw board as needed
• To assist with assembly line set up and tear down as needed

Knowledge Required

• Knowledge of facility locations to enable transfer of warehouse goods where needed properly

Education and/or Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Intermediate level math and communication skills
• A valid Michigan driver’s license, valid lift truck license, CDL only when required in special circumstances by company
• One to two years of general work experience, with preference placed on work in a manufacturing environment
