Material Handler
About the role
We are Learning Resources®, a family-owned company known for our award-winning educational toys and pet brand Brightkins®. Our Material Handler for Outbound plays a key role in maintaining efficient workflow and performing tasks related to the shipment of products, parts, and materials.
Responsibilities
- Merge and prepare parcels and LTL pallet loads according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions.
- Operate a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment as required.
- Ensure continuous flow of LTL outbound shipments with an on-time readiness goal of 98% by accurately labeling, picking, and staging LTL orders.
- Successfully complete cross-training in multiple functional areas (e.g., picking, staging, loading, receiving) in order to support operational needs within 90 days.
- Maintain quality standards by building pallets according to standard guidelines for stability, weight distribution, and protection in order to prevent mis-picks and errors.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S expectations (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in order to reduce risk of errors and product damage on a daily basis.
Requirements/Ideal Attributes
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions.
- Software Experience: Hands-on knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (D365 experience strongly preferred).
- Schedule: Ability to work weekends and extended periods of time when needed.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to ensure order accuracy and efficiency.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with warehouse teams and supervisors.
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.

Pay
Compensation Range: $19.57 per hour - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: years of experience, skill set or location. Total compensation includes profit sharing bonus potential, 401k matching, and a variety of other benefits. (details can be found here).
