Material Handler

Job Summary

About the role

The Material Handler supports production operations by accurately picking, transporting, and delivering raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Pick and deliver raw materials, components, and supplies to production lines according to production requirements.
• Operate stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Utilize handheld scanners and inventory systems to complete material transactions accurately.
• Stage materials and replenish production lines to minimize downtime and support production goals.
• Verify material quantities, part numbers, and locations when picking and delivering materials.
• Properly palletize, wrap, label, and prepare materials and finished goods for storage or shipment.
• Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility as required.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by following established material handling and inventory control procedures.
• Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, quality concerns, and production needs to Leads and Supervisors.
• Perform daily housekeeping activities and maintain work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and quality issues to leadership promptly.
• Obtain and maintain certification on forklifts and other powered industrial equipment as required.
• Support production, warehouse, and receiving operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Supervisor.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification is preferred.
• Basic computer and handheld scanner experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills are required.
