Material Handler

Position Overview

Handles freight at dock locations, responsibilities include loading, unloading, checking in/out of dock, staging by delivery location, confirm all freight received, reporting overages, missing, and damaged freight, completing daily cross-dock reports, monitoring cooler and dock temperatures, and ensuring dock safety and cleanliness standards are met.

Essential Functions

• Ensures freight is handled following proper procedures
• Loading and unloading
• Checking in/out freight
• Staging freight
• Ensuring all paperwork is accurate
• Reporting any missing, overages, or damaged freight
• Completing all daily cross-dock reports
• Operating forklift
• Records dock and cooler temperatures every hours, download trailer temperatures
• Adheres to all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school degree or GED
• 1+ year of related experience

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to use computer systems, input data and use spreadsheets
• Ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities
• Requires independent work and decision making when on weekend or night shift (varies by dock location)

Pay

PAY RANGE: $14.40 - $18.40 depending on experience.
