Material Handler

About the role
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality while complying with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick orders using a pallet jack to fulfill client demands, stage in appropriate areas, and stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products as determined by client requirements.
- Verify that products and orders meet quality standards, report any damages or discrepancies, and ensure all products are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
- Execute all safety protocols, maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks safely and efficiently, perform upkeep, and report equipment problems.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business needs, whether mandatory or voluntary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse, which can range from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months.
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Must effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Current or prior Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting.
- Frequently: Bending.
- Constantly: Walking and Standing.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 21-50 pounds.
- Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
