Responsibilities

  • Ship and receive purchased or transferred stock and material and finished items
  • Unload incoming materials or purchased parts
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with Shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to move items into and out of storage, Kitting area and/or production areas
  • Maintain necessary information and record for inventory locations on the computer and ensure appropriate flow with the materials/goods throughout the process
  • Perform cycle counting functions to ensure proper inventory levels
  • Select containers for parts or products, pack and seal parts, coils or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids
  • Load materials into/onto trucks and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
  • Use overhead crane and sheet lifter to load and unload sheet metal to maintain proper inventory in Nighttrain
  • Monitor and empty scrap tanks as assigned
  • Oversee the incoming materials and kitting process to ensure that purchased part kits are complete and meet production requirements
  • Receive and issue all material for area
  • Setup and document flow through assigned area
  • Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts
  • Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
  • Maintain the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
  • Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements
  • Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License

Qualifications

  • The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE
  • The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
  • The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • A High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment
