Responsibilities
- Ship and receive purchased or transferred stock and material and finished items
- Unload incoming materials or purchased parts
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with Shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to move items into and out of storage, Kitting area and/or production areas
- Maintain necessary information and record for inventory locations on the computer and ensure appropriate flow with the materials/goods throughout the process
- Perform cycle counting functions to ensure proper inventory levels
- Select containers for parts or products, pack and seal parts, coils or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids
- Load materials into/onto trucks and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
- Use overhead crane and sheet lifter to load and unload sheet metal to maintain proper inventory in Nighttrain
- Monitor and empty scrap tanks as assigned
- Oversee the incoming materials and kitting process to ensure that purchased part kits are complete and meet production requirements
- Receive and issue all material for area
- Setup and document flow through assigned area
- Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts
- Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
- Maintain the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
- Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements
- Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
- Ability to use hand tools
- Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License
Qualifications
- The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE
- The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time
- The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- A High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment
