Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler I is responsible for receiving, shipping, sorting, and storing materials while working collaboratively with other warehouse team members.

Responsibilities

• Moves materials off trucks, pallets, or racks and prepares orders for shipment
• Sorts and segregates materials onto correct pallets or locations based on item number
• Places labels on boxes or pallets as instructed
• Wraps pallets with stretch wrap and other packaging supplies
• Puts away product in designated warehouse locations
• Identifies damage, loss, or surplus of materials and communicates issues
• Utilizes RF (Radio Frequency) equipment to track product
• Communicates and cooperates with supervisors and coworkers
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures, rules, and regulations, including safety
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, lift, push, and pull
• Ability to withstand temperatures in a warehouse environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1 year of relevant warehouse and distribution experience preferred

Pay

$18.50 per hour
