Material Handler

About the Role

Pick up and deliver materials and parts to and from work cells to finishing areas.

Responsibilities

• Complete Material Requests to replenish parts and materials for production.
• Receive, issue, store, and inspect material and parts identified as replenishment.
• Pick up and deliver replenishment parts to designated work areas.
• Pick up and deliver order cards to the appropriate planner as noted on the card.
• Use computer systems and PCs to make inquiries and track inventory availability.
• Maintain the Wait-Delivery Board and notify supervisors of delayed materials or parts.
• Perform physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Perform data entry to key in move ticket information.
• Close work orders.
• Operate miscellaneous material handling equipment (dollies, pallet jack, forklift) to move materials.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance; team lift required for parts over 50 lbs.
• Certified forklift operator.
• Basic math skills, including addition/subtraction of fractions and decimals for material and inspection requirements.
• Ability to operate miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Basic reading and writing ability to interpret manufacturing orders and report production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience within a manufacturing environment.
