Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Performs daily distribution yard activities at a distribution facility.
• Unloads incoming material and stores or stacks it properly.
• Retrieves material from yard/warehouse to build loads for delivery.
• Loads delivery trucks according to customer requests.
• Operates forklift and other machinery as required to cut material to customer specifications.
• Checks loads against orders before vehicles exit the yard.
• Maintains warehouse and yard areas to comply with safety and housekeeping guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or two (2) years of equivalent work experience.
• Ability to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations, including forklift operation.
• Preferred: General warehouse experience, knowledge of building material products.
