About the role
The Material Handler - Aftermarket at Cleaver Brooks is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials. This includes sorting, weighing, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on purchase orders.
- Prepares outgoing shipments.
- Examines stock to verify visual conformance to specifications.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Pulls work orders.
- Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Affixes labels to stock and prepares shipping documents.
- Distributes stock to work centers, keeping records of material transferred/used.
- Assists in following up and tracing lost, misplaced, or misdirected material.
- Operates material handling equipment, such as forklifts, two-wheelers, and overhead cranes.
- Maintains tool storage areas in an orderly condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must have the ability to lift and push/pull material as required to count, sort, reconcile, prepare, put away, or ship parts. Must know, understand, and abide by all safety rules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Skills
