Material Handler (2nd Shift) - Packaging

What You’ll Do

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
• Load and unload trailers as required
• Pick and pull stock for delivery
• Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
• Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
• Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
• Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
• Able to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements
• Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor
• Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable assistance
• Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with or without reasonable assistance
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure

Position Success Criteria

• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice
