Material Handler 2nd Shift
About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for packing finished product in cases/boxes after it has been deemed fit for consumption. They also maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. Duties include supplying necessary products, jars, and caps to the production line, ensuring the area remains clean and free from contaminants, completing required documentation, using appropriate packaging materials, and printing labels correctly. Communication skills and adherence to the production schedule are essential. The role also involves following and demonstrating Olam's safety and quality principles.
Responsibilities
- Packaging finished product in cases/boxes
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area
- Supply products, jars, and caps to the production line
- Ensure the work area is free from contaminants
- Complete required documentation
- Use correct packaging materials and print labels accurately
- Communicate effectively with coworkers
- Adhere to the production schedule
- Follow and demonstrate Olam's Safety and Quality principles
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Preferred food manufacturing experience
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience preferred
- Able to work positively in a high-stress environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
- Able to work in a team environment
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Flexible availability to work Saturdays due to business needs
Pay and Benefits
