Material Handler 2

About the role

This position supports facility safety programs and performs duties related to unloading inbound receipts, stock put-aways, loading, and material movements throughout the distribution operation. Schedule: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts (experience within the past year required).
• Complete all required safety and regulatory training.
• Support front/back/pull to the lines and secondary packaging/blending operations (training provided).
• Stage finished goods for outbound shipment to DHL in designated areas.
• Unload inbound shipments and train on high-reach forklifts for put-away of materials.
• Ensure all required paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Maintain forklifts and lifting devices, including battery changing/charging, water levels, and related equipment.
• Interface positively with all levels of personnel in a team-building manner.
• Work from established procedures, verbal instructions, or radio communications.
• Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition per Visual Management and 5S Standards.
• Follow all prescribed health, safety, and environmental laws, OSHA rules, and regulations.
• Escalate issues affecting key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address and resolve issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned due to business needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Self-direction with an emphasis on quality and productivity.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
• Basic communication, computer, and math skills.
• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse setting.
• 2+ years of experience on stand-up counterbalance forklifts, including current experience within the last 12 months.
• Skilled in SAP/WMS and Windows Tablet functionality (e.g., material lookup).

Work Environment

• Lifting up to 60 lbs and ability to walk/stand for extended periods.
• Physical capabilities: stretching, lifting, climbing, twisting, turning, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending.
• Analytical skills, self-direction, problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is up to USD $21.50 per hour.
