About the role

Objective is to transfer material manually by hand, or utilizing a manual pallet jacket or using a lifting device attached to a hoist called out within the standard work.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device attached to hoist.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed.
  • Loads parts manually from racks, tubs, and/or bins in warehouse to trays or racks kit carts.
  • Follows set route through department to load kit carts.
  • Loads and unloads parts manually from paint line.
  • Maintains safety checks on necessary equipment.
  • Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Uses electronic scanner to transact material as needed.
  • Keeps aisles clean and orderly.
  • Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor.
  • Completes preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
  • Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent or 2 years of related experience.
  • The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required.
  • Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training.
  • General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations or assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations or assignments.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a shop environment.
  • Conditions include proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to high noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection, exposure to vibration through the use of tools and equipment, and slippery and sloping surfaces and uneven terrain.
  • Subject to air and skin exposures to chemical hazards and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment.

Physical Demands

  • The overall level of work is defined as medium duty.
  • Employees are expected to exert 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 11 to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Temperature & Environment

  • Heat Index: 105 - 125 degrees (as part of regular duties).
  • Time Spent Indoors: 100% - 66%.
  • Clothing: Coveralls, Standard Work Clothes, Chemical Protective Suits.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday.
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm.
  • Occasional overtime on Saturdays.

Pay

Starting hourly wage range for this position is $21+ per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
