Responsibilities
- Develops a course of action to ensure the Outboiund Freight Team executes the mission with zero defects.
- Assigns missions to the Team and verifies progress in the execution of these missions.
- Provides technical expertise to the Team as needed.
- Obtain air and water clearances as required for freight shipments.
- Prepare bills of lading and train employees on proper preparation.
- Review Subordinates load plans during Major outload missions.
- Track and/or trace inbound and outbound freight.
- Provides leadership to the Outbound Freight Team.
- Work around large moving trucks and military equipment.
- Must possess vision to read printed materials and computer screens; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Must be able to travel 25% of the year.
- May perform work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, and work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Duties may require walking, lifting, standing for long periods and being exposed to hot, cold and wet conditions.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks and other handling equipment.
- Able to work independently or in a team-based, high collaborative environment.
- Valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
- Able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
- Able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
Skills & Experience
- 2 to 5 years Transportation experience.
- Familiarity with Defense Transportation Regulation covering Cargo movement.
- Ability to work independently with little direction or supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task under short deadlines.
- Effective organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
