Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. Job Summary

Support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities include clear identification of required materials and details for storage and shipping. Coordination activities include reporting material work package statuses for installation, ensuring adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite.

Major Responsibilities

• Material Coordination: Perform coordination activities at the jobsite within the material discipline to ensure accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installation; monitor inventory control mechanisms (min‑max, bag‑and‑tag) and use Supply Chain Automation tools; perform priority allocations to ensure material availability ahead of installation requirements; coordinate material availability for design revisions, rework, contingency or work‑around plans; participate in construction and subcontractor planning meetings; coordinate with warehouse personnel for direct issue to installation areas.
• Material Planning: Verify material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and detail how materials will be shipped, stored, and controlled; maintain relationships with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and Construction Coordinators to provide needed materials; monitor engineering and supply chain deliverable schedules to ensure they meet the construction schedule.

Education and Experience Requirements

• University hire with 1–2 years of experience, or 5–6 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced knowledge of procurement operations related to material management at area, regional, temporary, and jobsite locations.
• Knowledge of managing material fabricators.
• Understanding of field engineering and construction activities, and standard work process procedures for materials management.
• Familiarity with all engineering disciplines, work processes, and deliverables.
• Knowledge of applicable Bechtel policies, instructions, and procurement procedures.
• Experience with Digital Supply Chain System, engineering tools, and other project data systems (preferred).
• Prior experience on major global projects involving engineering, procurement, and materials control.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills (preferred).
