Responsibilities
- Determine needs, order, and issue supplies
- Track overdue material and parts, informing supervisors of material status
- Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas, manually or using a handcart, hand truck, or forklift
- Record and maintain perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using a computer
- Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority
- Support internal and external property audits and inventory reconciliations
- Examine delivered material to verify it matches specifications
- Pick up materials/parts from vendors
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, issue, transfer, and disposition of government property
- Track and schedule tools that require calibration
- Operate a forklift safely
- Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate, and Plant rules, regulations, Labor Agreements, and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures
- Support maintenance technicians with material requirements
- Kit parts for scheduled maintenance and maintain adequate required supplies
- Coordinate material availability for work orders to prevent maintenance delays due to part shortages
- Monitor open purchase requests, expedite critical parts, track backorders, and coordinate with vendors and buyers
- Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of daily work
- Communicate courteously and professionally with customers
- Operate company vehicles for pickup and delivery of material
- Maintain the tool room inventory and organization as required
- Maintain accountability and traceability of Government Furnished Property (GFP), Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and customer-owned assets in accordance with contract requirements
- Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3–5 years of warehousing experience preferred
- Ability to utilize a computerized information system to correctly receive, store, issue, ship, and inspect all material and stock within the supply division
- Ability to accurately read and understand material order sheets to fill material or supply requisitions and direct parts and supplies to the proper areas
- Ability to provide proper input information to the computerized information system
- Forklift certification preferred
- Valid state driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance
- REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (e.g., U.S. passport or military ID) for access to a federal military installation
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access
- Background check and E-Verify required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking
- Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may be required
- Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
