Material Coordinator

About the role

Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with existing schedules or department supervisor’s priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material.
• Requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
• Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet schedules.
• Arranges with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation.
• Examines material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified.
• Tests completed cables.
• Delivers cables that meet Solder certification to IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies), as required.
• Provides Calibration Custodian Support and Metrology Engineering Support.
• Performs Passive Counter Measures (PCMS) Installation and Repair certified to NAVSEA RIM 05T1-99 (PCMS Repair and Installation Methods).
• Manages Shipping and Receiving, Dock Management, and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) coordination.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• Forklift and crane certification.
• PMCS certification to NAVSEA RIM 05T1-99 (PCMS Repair and Installation Methods).
• Solder certification to IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).
