About the role

The Material Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement, accountability, and documentation of Army equipment and materiel at a contractor-managed equipment turn-in site. This role ensures smooth flow of equipment through the turn-in process, compliance with Army supply regulations and contract requirements, and accurate updates to logistics systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coverage of high-volume, mass turn-in operations by managing workflow and resource allocation
  • Review and validate supply documents such as DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts, and condition codes
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into Army systems like GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP
  • Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and compliant material records
  • Coverage of daily, weekly, and monthly activity
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment

  • Monitor availability and safe use of material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Work with transportation staff to schedule and track incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Prepare cargo movement requests, shipping documentation, and load plans in accordance with Army and DTR standards
  • Ensure accountability during loading, movement, and offloading of equipment
  • Aid unit supply personnel during turn-in to resolve documentation discrepancies
  • Serve as a liaison between contractor site staff, Army units, and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
  • Provide responsive customer service to supported units while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 3–5 years of logistics, supply, or materiel management experience; prior U.S. Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support activities (SSA) strongly preferred
  • Army supply regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1
  • Army logistics systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II
  • Familiarity with Army documentation and condition coding requirements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and process Army supply documentation
  • Ability to operate or coordinate safe use of MHE
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with Army units and contractor staff
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility
  • Basic proficiency in the English language (reading and writing)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results
  • Must have a REAL ID
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance
