About the role

The Material Control Specialist I position is an entry-level role that requires basic knowledge of logistic functions and develops skills through Certified Training and work assignments. This role supports Mitsubishi Power customer orders and production requirements by managing inventory, receiving, shipping, and material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Safe operation of forklift, pallet jacks, and extended lifts
  • Completing daily Forklift Checklist to verify equipment is in proper working order
  • Requesting Maintenance Orders for any mechanical or electrical defects and removing equipment from operation
  • Unloading, unpacking, and verifying materials received from suppliers against packing lists and verifying customer return materials (serial numbers & part numbers) against appropriate documentation
  • Reporting shortages to lead and coordinating with purchasing personnel to resolve with vendors
  • Safely packaging product according to work instructions
  • Staging and loading outbound packages/crates as required
  • Performing periodic warehouse inventory counts to validate inventory levels
  • Picking, pulling, putting-away, and delivering items per transfer orders
  • Performing accurate real-time transactions in SAP & SharePoint
  • Delivering mail and product to designated locations
  • Performing miscellaneous material handling activities as instructed
  • Maintaining all 6-S responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fork lift certification is preferred
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license or privilege by date of employment and thereafter and maintain it in good status
  • Current CDL license preferred, including compliance with all DOT regulations and medical certification standards
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Working environment may be loud
  • The employee may be required to adhere to Mitsubishi Power and customer safety procedures including but not limited to, the use of personal protection equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection)
  • The employee may be required to work over their scheduled 8 hour shifts and weekends based off of business needs to support our customers
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties
  • Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times

Qualifications
