Responsibilities
- Observes and follows all safety rules
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
- Initiates purchase requisitions for materials and supplies as needed
- Verifies material received against requisition, shipping notices, or invoices
- Completes records concerned with quantity and type of material received, stored, and issued in the plant
- Uses handheld scanner to enter records
- Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping notices, or invoices to determine irregularities
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to the designated areas
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, and color or product code
- Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves
- Conveys order to packing station or shipping department
- Marks materials with identifying information
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers
- Records amounts of material or items received or distributed
- Operates material handling equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations within the plant for shipment
- Prepares parcels for mailing and shipping
- Maintains inventory records
- Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
- May train other operators
- Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the supervisor
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- 3 months of related experience and/or training
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Basic skill level of computer programs such as Microsoft Office are highly desirable
Qualifications
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers
Skills

- Basic computer skills

Pay
$24.25 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. Some mandatory overtime.
Schedule
Hunter is hiring for the 1st Shift (7am-3:30pm Monday through Friday).
