Material Handler 1st Shift

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Eaton’s Commercial Products and Assemblies division is currently seeking a Material Handler-Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for providing manufacturing expertise and support in the Shipping area including, but not limited to, allocation of materials, planning, scheduling, verifying, receiving, and shipping in either the Front or Back Storeroom.

Qualifications

• Forklift and/or crane operation experience to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
• Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems.
• High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
• Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer literate.
• Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
• Computer skills to include Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, Vista, & Outlook.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel.
• The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip.
• The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
