Material and Warehouse management support engineer

About the role

Lead Material & Warehouse Management operations improvement. Work in warehouse floor environment (hands-on, operational role).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current warehouse processes mapping
• Work closely with warehouse operations team to stabilize core operational workflows to support the factory
• Identify and address improvement areas such as excessive travel distances, waiting for material handling equipment, or system lags
• Conduct informal interviews and open-ended discussions directly on the floor to understand operatives' biggest frustrations and challenges
• Redesign work areas using lean 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to ensure frequently used tools and fast-moving inventory are always within immediate reach
• Identify discrepancies between WMS and manual processes and look to close the gap
• Provide recommendations on warehouse designs to improve efficiency and optimize material flow
• Implement improvements in material flow, inventory handling, and operational efficiency
