Material Analyst Buyer

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain stock levels through MRP and placement of purchase orders.
• Manage direct ship requests and place purchase orders.
• Negotiate volume discounts with vendors when applicable.
• Update IT system and review open order reports.
• Manage daily communication with suppliers regarding shipping schedules.
• Communicate inventory availability and other details to internal and external customers.
• Determine proper stock levels for manufacturing and inventory planning based on past usage, current demand, and future forecast.
• Initiate inventory transfers and provide inventory reports.
• Initiate monthly forecasts to suppliers and reconcile outside inventory monthly.
• Work with suppliers to maximize manufacturing capacities without increasing USA inventory levels.
• Quote customer delivery dates for new forecasted items.
• Collaborate with transportation department on freight quotes.
• Oversee and manage product returns for quality issues and overstock situations.
• Participate in cross-functional collaboration with associates from various departments or managing levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Related Field or equivalent experience.
• Prior knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including advanced Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (E1) or similar platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of textiles and international operations preferred.
