Key Responsibilities
- Maintain stock levels through MRP and placement of purchase orders.
- Manage direct ship requests and place purchase orders.
- Negotiate volume discounts with vendors when applicable.
- Update IT system and review open order reports.
- Manage daily communication with suppliers regarding shipping schedules.
- Communicate inventory availability and other details to internal and external customers.
- Determine proper stock levels for manufacturing and inventory planning based on past usage, current demand, and future forecast.
- Initiate inventory transfers and provide inventory reports.
- Initiate monthly forecasts to suppliers and reconcile outside inventory monthly.
- Work with suppliers to maximize manufacturing capacities without increasing USA inventory levels.
- Quote customer delivery dates for new forecasted items.
- Collaborate with transportation department on freight quotes.
- Oversee and manage product returns for quality issues and overstock situations.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with associates from various departments or managing levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Related Field or equivalent experience.
- Prior knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including advanced Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (E1) or similar platforms preferred.
- Knowledge of textiles and international operations preferred.
