About the role
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicle systems, performing scheduled maintenance, and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems using specialized tools and diagnostic software.
- Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, air conditioning, and electrical systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Complete scheduled maintenance services and factory recalls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Document services performed and communicate findings to Service Advisors.
- Communicate findings clearly to service advisors, advise on additional necessary repairs or maintenance, and maintain transparency with customers.
- Maintain operational excellence by adhering to dealership and OEM procedures, keeping tools and equipment properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians, parts team members, and service advisors to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through training and certification programs.
- Share knowledge with junior technicians and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent shop.
- Foundation knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, brakes, and tires.
- Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models is a plus.
- ASE certifications are highly preferred, with a focus on areas relevant to your specialization.
- OEM-specific training and certifications are a significant plus.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
- Expertise in using diagnostic software and specialized tools.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions.
- May be required to work overtime and weekends.
- Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each.
- May at times require working different shifts.
- Lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Walk up to three miles each day.
