About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicle systems, performing scheduled maintenance, and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems using specialized tools and diagnostic software.
  • Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, air conditioning, and electrical systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance services and factory recalls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document services performed and communicate findings to Service Advisors.
  • Communicate findings clearly to service advisors, advise on additional necessary repairs or maintenance, and maintain transparency with customers.
  • Maintain operational excellence by adhering to dealership and OEM procedures, keeping tools and equipment properly stored and maintained.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians, parts team members, and service advisors to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through training and certification programs.
  • Share knowledge with junior technicians and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent shop.
  • Foundation knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, brakes, and tires.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models is a plus.
  • ASE certifications are highly preferred, with a focus on areas relevant to your specialization.
  • OEM-specific training and certifications are a significant plus.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
  • Expertise in using diagnostic software and specialized tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions.
  • May be required to work overtime and weekends.
  • Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each.
  • May at times require working different shifts.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
  • Walk up to three miles each day.
