Responsibilities
- Receive repair orders from dispatchers and take to stall area
- Perform routine maintenance/major repairs assigned with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership
- Perform complete MPI and 27 point used care inspection
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair as authorized
- Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
- Tag & save parts, turn in parts, if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
- Advise Service Advisor immediately if any additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be complete within promised time
- Document & quality check work performed
- Road-test vehicles to ensure repair has addressed customer complaint
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
- Ensure that work area and customers' vehicle are kept clean
- Administer safety & housekeeping policies/procedures
- Understand/follow federal/state/local regulation, governing service repair work
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two-years of experience in an auto body repair facility, one-year of supervisory experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five-years automotive mechanical experience (preferred)
- Must have diagnostic ability in chassis, drive & electrical
- Must have own tools
- Ability to read, analyze & interpret technical procedures
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence & procedure manuals
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs
- Basic mathematical skills & reasoning ability
- Customer service, computer & organizational skills
- Current, valid driver's license & satisfactory MVR
