About the role

The Parts Counter Salesperson will assist Parts and Warehouse coworkers in greeting and serving customers promptly and efficiently, providing excellent service that keeps customers returning. We incentivize based on performance with monthly bonuses if internal goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer parts or information requests quickly
  • Record information carefully and identify needed parts using the most efficient method
  • Determine availability and price information, documenting this as necessary
  • Upsell parts that benefit customer needs; ability to adapt quickly and willingness for advancement
  • Increase aftermarket parts sales, fleet parts sales profitability, and broaden the dealership company base
  • Maintain consistent contact with dealership customers while developing new leads and business (phone and in person)
  • Receive incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously, handling daily transactions
  • Help maintain parts showroom displays, parts catalogs, and parts counter area in a presentable manner
  • Stay up to date on regular company training
  • Assist other counterpersons with tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of customer service experience
  • Appreciation for teamwork and a sincere desire to contribute as part of the team
  • Excellent communication skills, including awareness of others and effective listening ability
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • High school degree or equivalent

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive or truck mechanics
  • Parts department experience, particularly in a truck dealership or truck aftermarket environment
  • Trade school education in Parts Operations or Transportation Technology
