Master Mechanic (Tech A) - Budget Truck - FT

About the role
Join the Avis Budget Group team supporting Budget Truck operations. In this role, your technical leadership helps ensure our trucks are safe, dependable, and ready when customers need them to keep their businesses moving. You will perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, including warranty work, on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems
- Act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices
- Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs
- Keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently to reduce downtime, support fleet availability, and ensure a reliable customer experience

Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience
- Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
- Strong knowledge across ASE areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise levels
- Complete set of tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
- At least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance
- Regular, on-site presence (this position cannot be performed remotely)
Qualifications
- Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
Pay
$30.00-$32.00/hour
