Avis Budget Group is seeking an experienced automotive and truck repair technician to support Budget Truck operations in Glen Burnie, Maryland. This role focuses on maintaining a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer uptime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, including warranty work, on cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems.
  • Act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices.
  • Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise levels.
  • Maintain tools required for automotive and truck repair and maintenance.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, stand continuously, bend, reach, walk, sit, kneel, enter/exit vehicles, and drive as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C).
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or truck repair experience.
  • Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3), with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
  • Strong knowledge across ASE areas, including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance.
  • Regular, on-site presence required; this position cannot be performed remotely.

Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage.
