Master Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Traveling
About the role
Harsco Environmental is seeking a Master Mechanic to support their onsite mill services and resource recovery services. The ideal candidate will travel to various sites to perform complex repairs and maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
Responsibilities
- Exercise judgment and independence in determining methods and techniques for solving maintenance and repair problems.
- Plan and improvise repair procedures, find ways to mechanically and physically adapt or alter items to fit and mesh into systems for which they were not specifically designed.
- Develop or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines.
- Modify parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed.
- Improvise modifications to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; or design modifications to meet special test requirements or other special needs.
- Use specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose problems in complex state-of-the-art electric and electronic systems to identify and replace defective components such as chips, sensors, and printed circuit boards.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and solve complex maintenance and repair problems.
- Experience with off-road heavy mobile equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to use specialized diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- At least 5 years of experience as a mechanic or related field.
- Experience with complex machinery and equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
- Experience with off-road heavy mobile equipment.
- Proficiency in using specialized diagnostic equipment.

$82,000 per year plus overtime.
