Pay: $15.15 per hour + Commission
$500 new hire sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment

About the Role
The Massage Therapist manages the delivery of massage therapy services and performs a variety of massage techniques on clients, creating a healthy, stress-free environment. This position reports to the Assistant Spa & Fitness Director and works directly with the Spa & Fitness Director.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BSRG and facility policies
- Maintain a professional, confidential practitioner-client relationship; use universal precautions and adhere to a code of ethics
- Assess client contraindications and customize treatments based on individual needs or physical limitations
- Remain focused on client care during sessions; engage in conversations related to the client’s interests and concerns
- Practice health care protocol; report incidents or accidents to the Assistant Spa & Fitness Director and/or Spa & Fitness Director
- Perform all treatments on the services menu based on current certifications
- Know all spa services offered and suggest additional beneficial treatments
- Maintain client records, including services provided and treatment notes
- Maintain product knowledge and explain ingredients, benefits, and recommend products for home use (minimum 25% service-to-sales ratio)
- Inform Assistant Spa & Fitness Director of product needs
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment; replace linens between appointments
- Clean and disinfect all equipment daily and care for linens according to protocol
- Work assigned schedule; begin and end treatments on time; ensure work areas are clean and set according to procedures
- Attend scheduled meetings and professional trainings as requested
- Assist with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products for special events
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of customer service and massage experience preferred
- Must meet state requirements (minimum hours of training) for certified or licensed massage therapist (LMT)
- Maintain all current state and local licenses and certifications
- Participate in continuing education courses (CEU) if required for license renewal
- Computer literate
- Ability to explain and promote treatments, services, and products to guests
- Ability to speak and provide a massage simultaneously; respond to client questions or concerns
- Ability to write client notes, reports, and correspondence
- Strong communication skills with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities
- Self-motivated, able to follow direction, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Initiative to think, work, solve problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
- Good time management, organization, and follow-up skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
- Ability to handle multiple details and work in a fast-paced environment with continuous improvement expectations
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends; limited travel required
- Valid driver’s license

Work Environment
This position works in a private, low-lit spa room with clients. The noise level is usually quiet, with possible relaxing music in the background.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to see, hear, speak clearly, and understand speech
- Sit and stand for extended periods; walk, bend over clients, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Reach with hands and arms; firm hand and arm strength required
- Lift and hold a client’s hand, arm, foot, leg, head, or neck during sessions; balance and endurance required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
