Massage Therapist (FT/PT)

About the role

Responsible for performing all spa services including massage and body treatments. To provide a level of excellence in guest service to internal and external guests. Other responsibilities include various tasks for the upkeep of the spa facility to ensure spa standards meet guest expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all spa services including massage and body treatments.
• Provide a level of excellence in guest service to internal and external guests.
• Varying tasks for the upkeep of the spa facility to ensure spa standards meet guest expectations.
• Upkeep of locker rooms, hallways, reception area, retail area and individual treatment rooms.
• Ensure a comfortable and relaxing environment for all guests.
• Knowledgeable on all services provided and execute each service in a professional and efficient manner.
• Customize treatments based on guests' needs.
• Suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Answer guest's questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Understand and use universal precautions when providing services.
• Assess contraindications of guests that may prevent service from taking place.
• Maintain the highest level of product knowledge and have complete knowledge of all spa services.
• Recommend products for home use.
• Perform all treatments on services' menu based on current certifications.
• Begins and ends all treatments on time.
• Ensures work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Informs the Lead Therapist and/or Spa Director of product needs.
• Create and maintain client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Attend all scheduled meetings.
• Attend scheduled professional trainings.
• Complete other duties assigned by the Lead Therapist and/or Spa Director.
• Clean and disinfect all equipment on a daily basis.
• Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.
• Report any incident or accident to the Lead Therapist and/or the Spa Director.
• Complete all assigned side work.
• Perform other hotel duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to stand on feet the majority of the work day.
• Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
• Must be able to portray a professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player.
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
• Must be aware of body mechanics in order to prevent injury.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a spa or similar service industry.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of spa services and products.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail.

Pay

The full compensation is based on 100% commission and service charges.
