Responsibilities

  • Administer massage and other body treatments to spa guests according to treatment outline.
  • Greet guests with proper salutation and a smile.
  • Absorb guest needs inquiring about their physical well-being to perform appropriate service.
  • Desire and ability to educate and sell products to guests and staff.
  • Ideal candidates offer flexible, on-call availability and are excited to support our Spa Without Walls team during peak business periods, weekends, and holidays.
  • Explain treatment services and products to guests in a knowledgeable, professional, and thorough manner.
  • Be knowledgeable and informed regarding all massage/body treatments, general spa and resort programs and services.
  • Participate in and contribute to staff meetings, training, product knowledge classes, and team efforts.
  • Provide necessary information to compile complete guest records.
  • Promote and execute effective retail sales.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Absorb and comply with all Hawaii State Board guidelines and Fairmont Orchid safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Uphold and maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the treatment areas and Spa facilities.
  • Conduct tours of the facility as requested.
  • Provide necessary information to compile complete guest records.
  • Report any problems incurred immediately to the Principal Therapist or Director of Spa & Wellness.
  • Report for scheduled shifts promptly and ready to work.
  • Provide a positive, guest service-oriented attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager.

Qualifications

  • Must be professional, service-oriented, accurate, gentle, and work with attention to detail, striving to exceed the expectations of every guest every time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Book4time, and basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent personal appearance, good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to handle stressful situations professionally and multitask with ease all while focusing on the guest.
  • Knowledge of guest service and/or hospitality industry a plus.
  • Minimum two years administering massage/body treatment services in a luxury resort or spa setting preferred.
  • Candidates must hold a current Hawai‘i State Massage Therapy License in good standing and maintain all required certifications.
