Key Responsibilities
- Perform therapeutic massage, body treatments, and foot rituals to the highest standards of quality and care.
- Educate guests on the benefits of massage therapy and appropriate aftercare recommendations.
- Greet each guest with a warm smile, direct eye contact, and by name, creating a welcoming and personalized experience.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of The Ivy Hotel, The Spa at The Ivy, and Magdalena Restaurant to assist guests with accurate and engaging information.
- Maintain professional, courteous communication with all departments, including Hotel Reservations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Security, Magdalena, and Kitchen staff.
- Promptly report guest concerns or service-related issues to the Spa Manager, Team Lead, or Front Desk.
- Aid in lifting and storing spa equipment, supplies, and furnishings to support facility upkeep and preparation for special events.
Facility & Sanitation Expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in treatment rooms and shared spa spaces.
- Reset treatment rooms between services:
- Sweep and mop floors
- Disinfect the treatment table, counters, walls, sinks, and equipment
- Wash product bowls and tools
- Remove trash and used linens to designated areas
- Restock towels, linens, and spa products
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, climb stairs, push/pull carts, and complete repetitive motions such as rolling and squeezing towels.
- Must be able to operate equipment including: Mops, vacuums, scrub brushes, towel warmers, tea kettles, cleaning and disinfecting agents, food and linen carts, guest amenities (retail products, shampoos, soaps, etc.).
Availability
- Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with spa hours of operation.
Qualifications
- Have a genuine interest in Wellness and be energetic, upbeat, and pleasant.
- Have a valid Massage Therapy license for Maryland and be in good standing with the Massage Board.
- Have valid CPR credentials.
- High School Diploma/GED but some college experience is preferred.
- Previous Massage Therapy experience required.
- Previous experience using and reading spa scheduling software.
- Have a calm disposition and demeanor.
- Professional speech, mannerisms, discretion, and appearance.
- Strong team player.
- Must be able to stay calm and composed while under pressure.
- Must have an eye for detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
