Massage Therapist
About the role
The massage therapist will provide massage therapy and soft tissue services to the athletes of the Utah Royals under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer. Utilizing various learned techniques (sports massage), the massage therapist will assist in the overall health care of the athletes on Royals. Providing preventative and recovery techniques to help athletes maintain their musculoskeletal health. Communicate with medical staff any medical concerns they discover with athletes during their work. The Massage Therapist will be required to participate in Medical Staff meetings/education/seminars.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a high standard of professionalism, hygiene, and confidentiality
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to recognize any contraindications for certain stretching technique
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by delivering consistent, high-quality massage services
- Communicate effectively to gather feedback and address any concerns or adjustments to the treatment
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of Massage Therapy School, Must have Utah State License in Massage Therapy, Must have own LLC, liability and workers compensation insurance, Must be able to travel with the team to away games from Feb – November of each season, 1-2 years work experience (preferably with high level, elite sports teams/individuals), Must be able to work long hours within a flexible schedule, Physical ability to perform massage therapy services without restriction, Must be able to pass a background check, Must become SafeSport Certified
