About the role
A caregiver in this position works 15-20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 7:00AM – 5:00PM. Start and stop times can be flexible.
Responsibilities
- Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydro-therapy.
- Interview patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality.
- Apply selected modality, concentrating on any areas of particular discomfort.
- Monitor patient's responses to treatment and adjust, change or terminate treatment based on feedback.
- Properly document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback and results.
- Maintain therapy areas in a clean, safe, sterile and organizational state.
- Order supplies as necessary.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program
- Current Florida state licensure as a Massage Therapist
- Current Florida Board of Cosmetology license required if performing aesthetician duties
- One year of experience providing massage services OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Physical Requirements
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.
- Requires standing and walking for extended times.
- Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.
- Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
