About the Program

There's more mass communication today than ever before, thanks to new, dynamic ways of interacting with the public. If you can learn to be good at mass communications - with strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork and leadership skills, and the ability to absorb large quantities of information quickly and sum it up succinctly - you'll make your mark in a wide ranging career field.

Courses

Mass communication courses include radio and television production, public relations, editing techniques and media internships. The program is built around the Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree, which provides a solid two-year background in general education courses that can transfer to a four-year institution.

Careers

You may find employment in advertising, radio/TV broadcasting, electronic media, journalism or public relations. Whatever field you choose, you'll have a distinct advantage when entering the job market because you'll know how to communicate well. Transfer Information

MCC has worked out specific transfer agreements with many four-year colleges and universities. While MCC does not offer a degree in this field, these freshman- and sophomore-level courses will transfer to a four-year college or university. Depending on your chosen major, these courses may apply toward your degree or as electives.
