Masker (Weekend Shift)

About the role

Magellan Aerospace is a global, integrated aerospace company providing complex assemblies and systems solutions to aircraft and engine manufacturers, and defence and space agencies worldwide. The Masking Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring products are correctly masked and unmasked according to work instructions and customer specifications under supervision. Key responsibilities include efficient and safe material handling, loading and unloading of products, and using sharp instruments safely.

Responsibilities

• Efficient and safe material handling, storage, and transportation of goods.
• Masking Aerospace parts using blueprints and/or First-Article Masked Part as guides.
• Safely operate required equipment and demonstrate a positive attitude and teamwork.
• Ensure proper, efficient, and accurate use of the process and communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and other departments.
• Read, understand, and follow written instructions, including those on route cards, sketch drawings, and measurements.
• Write and record all required information on documentation, such as time and materials used in the masking process.
• Identify and report equipment issues and maintain an accurate list of materials and supplies for ordering purposes.
• Scan jobs completed as per training on the computer, identify non-ready-to-mask jobs, label carts and baskets with processing placards, and move products to the next area of processing.
• Use knives and other equipment safely, identifying and applying pre-cut templates as required.
• Communicate professionally with auditors, management, and other internal personnel.
• Keep the work area clean, orderly, and hazard-free according to 6S instructions and agreements.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a self-disciplined manner.
• Strong math and reading skills.
• Ability to relate to and work well with people.
• Attention to detail and tolerance for precision.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Able to read and interpret Aerospace blueprints.
• Good hand to eye coordination and ability to lift up to 25 lbs multiple times during the work shift.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to read and write in English. Spanish is a plus.
