About the role

This position is for a Marriage and Family Therapist at Wasco State Prison (WSP), located in Wasco, CA, in Kern County.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions to inmates.
  • Assess and document client progress and needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct intake assessments and ongoing evaluations.
  • Develop and deliver group therapy sessions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Current/Valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
  • Experience working with incarcerated populations.
  • Knowledge of correctional settings and mental health issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and other professionals.
  • Basic understanding of correctional policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Completion of a supervised internship or residency program.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$7,294.00 - $10,378.00 per Month

Schedule

Full-time schedule is typically 40 hours per week.
