About the role
The MARPE Clinical Specialist reviews CBCT imaging and clinical prescription information to support the design of MARPE appliance solutions in collaboration with referring clinicians and internal fabrication teams. The role serves as the primary technical and clinical support resource for MARPE cases, translating doctor intent, anatomical considerations, and design requirements into accurate appliance specifications.
Responsibilities
- Review CBCT imaging and clinical prescription data to develop accurate MARPE designs, applying anatomical and biomechanical understanding to translate doctor intent into precise appliance specifications for production.
- Serve as the primary clinical contact for MARPE-focused customers, managing inbound communications by phone and email with the confidence and technical vocabulary needed to engage clinicians on technical and anatomical matters.
- Conduct consultative case discussions with clinicians by phone, email, and video conference to clarify treatment intent, present design rationale, flag anatomical considerations, and obtain case approval, functioning as a knowledgeable clinical resource throughout the MARPE design process.
- Complete case documentation and data entry in the applicable company system to advance MARPE cases through production stages, ensuring design specifications are accurately recorded and communicated to fabrication teams.
- Apply rigorous quality standards to each case by identifying design concerns, imaging anomalies, or specification gaps before cases advance, contributing to the continuous improvement of MARPE design protocols and clinical outcomes.
- Develop and maintain design protocol documentation to support team consistency, onboarding, and continuous improvement of MARPE workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, dental technology, health sciences, biology, anatomy, or a related field preferred.
- Experience reviewing CBCT, CT, or similar clinical imaging for design, planning, laboratory, or production-related purposes preferred.
- Experience with digital design, digital planning, imaging software, or similar technical platforms preferred.
- Experience in a dental, orthodontic, laboratory, clinical, medical device, or healthcare-related environment preferred.
- Prior experience with MARPE, orthodontic appliances, implant planning, surgical guides, or other anatomy-based appliance/device planning preferred but not required.
- Experience communicating technical or case-specific information to doctors, clinicians, healthcare providers, customers, or internal production teams preferred.
