About the role

The Marketing Specialist II plays a crucial part in supporting university marketing initiatives. They work independently and collaboratively with key marketing, university programs, and strategic relations staff to develop, track, and analyze marketing campaigns, programs, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, track, and analyze research specific to university programs and partnerships.
  • Conduct market research, analyze findings, and communicate results to appropriate audiences.
  • Plan and implement action items based on research findings.
  • Track and report results of marketing campaigns and program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement marketing plans in support of programs and partnerships.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports in Excel and Adobe Analytics to track campaign performance and program KPIs.
  • Create and implement procedures, processes, and checklists in support of programs, partnerships, and research initiatives.
  • Contribute to program and service messaging under guidance of marketing leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data modeling).
  • Strong project management orientation.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics or a comparable web analytics platform.

Skills and Abilities

  • Quantitatively strong and adept with spreadsheets, databases, analytics, and statistical data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data modeling).
  • Exceptionally strong skill set in research practices: qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strategic analysis with the ability to review data and research findings, identify significant trends, implications, and opportunities, and craft marketing initiatives to address issues.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related degree required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, internet research, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization).
  • Strong, demonstrated project management orientation necessary.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics or a comparable web analytics platform (e.g., Google Analytics) strongly preferred.
