About the role
The Texas Counseling Association (TCA) is seeking an energetic, strategic Marketing Specialist to lead marketing and communications efforts and help advance the counseling profession across Texas. TCA represents more than 6,000 professional counselors and is the state's leading professional association dedicated to education, advocacy, leadership, and member engagement. The association also provides administrative services to 12 professional divisions and 27 local chapters.
What You'll Do
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that support membership growth, conferences, professional education, advocacy, and organizational initiatives.
- Create annual marketing plans, monthly campaign calendars, and integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Champion and protect the TCA brand, ensuring consistency across all communications and platforms.
Communications & Digital Marketing
- Lead TCA's communications strategy across digital, print, email, web, and social media platforms.
- Produce monthly newsletters, advocacy alerts, promotional campaigns, and member communications that increase engagement.
- Create compelling marketing content, including copywriting, graphics, videos, digital assets, and promotional materials.
Conferences & Events
- Lead marketing strategy for TCA's conferences, leadership programs, and educational events.
- Collaborate with volunteer leaders to develop conference branding, themes, and promotional materials.
- Ensure all marketing efforts align with organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
Project & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with marketing vendors, designers, web developers, printers, and technology partners.
- Coordinate timelines, priorities, and deliverables while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Support organization-wide initiatives and special projects as organizational priorities evolve.
Analytics & Operations
- Monitor and report marketing performance, including website traffic, email engagement, social media analytics, digital advertising, and campaign results.
- Partner with the CEO and Vice President of Operations to develop the annual marketing budget.
- Establish marketing metrics, standard operating procedures, and efficient workflows.
What You Bring
We're looking for a creative storyteller, strategic thinker, and organized project manager who enjoys collaborating with others and producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Three or more years of professional marketing and communications experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization, association, or mission-driven organization.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong graphic design and visual communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content.
- Experience with Higher Logic or similar systems.
- Knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and marketing performance metrics.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), or similar creative software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of association management systems (AMS), CRM databases, or membership management platforms.
