About the role

Under the direction of the VP of Performance, the Marketing Manager leads the marketing and communication efforts of Peak Living. Responsibilities include coordinating, overseeing, and implementing all aspects of the company's marketing and communications plan, such as marketing, advertising, reputation management, social media, websites, and special projects. The role involves establishing working relationships with on-site teams, corporate teams, contractors, vendors, agencies/freelancers, media, and community leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quarterly objectives, evaluate performance, and conduct interim and annual performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Supervise non-exempt, exempt, or professional employees, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, counseling, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assist regional managers in planning and executing integrated advertising programs to enhance resident leasing and generate positive results for the company.
  • Assist regional managers in planning and executing special events, including resident coordination, entertainment, vendors, decorations, and value-added opportunities.
  • Coordinate public relations efforts to maintain the company in a favorable light, create interest, promote special events, increase exposure, build media relationships, and enhance overall perception.
  • Maintain the company’s website and employee portal interface; manage appropriate social media to support the company.
  • Increase financial resources for effective marketing opportunities through sponsorships, trade-outs, partnership marketing, and merchant involvement.
  • Conduct and evaluate primary and secondary research to assess program effectiveness, assist with planning, evaluate competition, and proactively drive marketing efforts.
  • Prepare and provide regular verbal and written reports, including marketing plan summaries, leasing updates, public relations value, competitive analysis, and traffic counts to corporate management, investment partners, and other designated parties.

Requirements

  • Capacity to learn new software programs, including YARDI and Entrata.
  • Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Suite products.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, residents, communities, and the public.
  • Expert troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Above-average written and verbal business communication; ability to write, read, analyze, and interpret reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of property management software and transaction processes, including contract review.
  • Ability to negotiate with outside vendors to create beneficial working arrangements.
  • Expert knowledge of marketing principles and procedures.
  • Experience with marketing for Multifamily Housing.
  • Ability to prepare a marketing budget and calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Strategic planning and thinking; ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, report, or schedule form.
  • Understanding of demographics and regional markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Marketing or 5+ years of related field experience.
  • Experience with YARDI and Entrata Property Management software.

Travel Expectations

May be required to travel for business purposes up to 25% of the time. All properly documented and approved company travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with management’s Travel and Entertainment Policy. Attendance at conferences, company events, or community functions may be required.
