Marketing Manager

We are a well-established, employee-owned life sciences company seeking a hands-on Marketing Manager to help shape our next stage of growth. This broad role blends strategy and execution, offering meaningful ownership across brand, digital marketing, content, social media, website management, product marketing, and trade shows. You’ll collaborate closely with scientists, business development, and senior leadership in a highly collaborative, low-ego culture with a long-tenured team.

About the role

This position requires on-site presence in New Jersey five days a week and involves regular travel for trade shows and industry events, including occasional international trips. You’ll have direct visibility into the business, the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, modernize our marketing approach, and influence how we go to market.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute the company’s overall marketing strategy
• Plan and manage approximately 13–16 trade shows and industry events annually, including several in Europe
• Coordinate pre-show planning, vendors, shipping, registrations, booth logistics, staffing, setup, and breakdown
• Represent the company at conferences and engage with customers, prospects, and industry partners
• Manage marketing and event budgets
• Evaluate and coordinate external vendors across events, print, creative, and other marketing services
• Plan and execute campaigns that support brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement
• Develop marketing literature, sales collateral, product materials, and promotional content
• Own social media planning, content development, and posting
• Maintain and update the company website
• Support video production for training, education, and promotional use
• Track industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging marketing opportunities
• Improve follow-up and lead management from events and campaigns
• Support marketing for a scientific instrumentation product line
• Collaborate closely with scientists, commercial teams, and company leadership

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on marketing experience, ideally within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, research services, diagnostics, medical devices, laboratory products, animal health, or another technical industry
• Experience marketing to scientific, research, healthcare, or other highly technical audiences
• Strong trade show or event marketing experience, including logistics and on-site execution
• Broad marketing capabilities across content, digital, social media, campaigns, website management, and collateral
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence working directly with technical subject-matter experts
• Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership without waiting for detailed direction
• Strong organization and project-management skills
• Working knowledge of WordPress or another website content management system
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar creative tools is a plus
• Comfortable with regular domestic travel and occasional international travel
