Marketing Manager

About the role

As the Marketing Manager, you will develop, produce, and implement integrated marketing plans and campaigns to support ACA programs, products, and services (e.g., membership, events, advocacy, publications, webinars). You will ensure relevant content reaches the right audience at the right time, advancing our mission. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will lead innovative marketing campaigns, collaborate across teams, and serve as a brand steward. This role includes managing marketing projects, enhancing digital strategy, and representing ACA at events.

This position has 1 direct report and requires travel to 1–3 meetings/events per year, including the ACA Conference & Expo.

Responsibilities

• Manage email marketing campaigns, including creation, testing, scheduling, and approval processes.
• Contribute to the development of marketing plans, tactics, and research for ACA programs, products, and services.
• Write and edit marketing content for emails, websites, social media, and print ads.
• Manage incoming communications and marketing support requests from staff across the organization.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to develop brand-aligned creative assets.
• Work with the Communications team to build robust social media campaigns.
• Monitor and track marketing performance across channels (email, social media, print, website) and recommend data-driven adjustments.
• Represent ACA and exhibit at in-person events and conferences.
• Assist in logistics for field marketing efforts, including preparing collateral for shipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, or a related field, with 5 years of experience.
• Experience in an association or nonprofit organization is preferred.
• Proven success in developing multi-channel marketing plans and campaigns.
• Strong project, time management, and decision-making skills in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Data-driven mindset with experience optimizing marketing efforts using analytics.
• 2–3 years of relevant team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong copywriting skills, including SEO, with the ability to create compelling, easy-to-understand content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Willingness to stay informed about current marketing trends and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Location

Candidates based in the Washington, D.C.-metro area (DC, VA, MD) are preferred, but we welcome applications from qualified candidates regardless of location. This role requires in-person presence at the office approximately four times per year, including ACA annual conferences.

Physical Demands

This office-based role involves sitting and some standing, with occasional lifting of up to 15–20 pounds. It requires the ability to operate computers, telephones, and general office equipment.
