About the role
The Marketing Engineer, Brokerage Growth role is central to Shepherd's strategy of leveraging AI to transform the digital landscape of commercial insurance. This role is pivotal in building and owning the growth engine for brokers, focusing on paid media, account-based marketing, and broker lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Own paid media & ABM: Run paid programs end-to-end, including audience strategy, channel mix, budgets, creative, testing, and performance with a strong emphasis on ABM campaigns.
- Build outbound and lifecycle infrastructure: Design and implement broker lifecycle journeys, signal-based triggers, intelligent sequences, and orchestration to ensure every broker receives the right touch at the right time.
- Improve conversion across the funnel: Build and iterate on landing pages, forms, and website flows to convert traffic from various channels, including paid, ABM, and organic.
- Stand up GEO / AI search: Implement structured data, schema markup, and entity infrastructure to ensure Shepherd appears prominently in searches, including AI-native surfaces.
- Implement marketing automation & attribution: Select and wire the stack (MAP, enrichment, tracking), and build dashboards to clearly show what's working, especially for paid and ABM programs.
- Produce performance creative: Turn ideas into performance assets, such as self-recorded explainers, lightweight product demos, landing pages, and ad creative, and collaborate with specialists when needed.
- Increase experimentation velocity: Continuously test audiences, offers, creative, landing pages, and channels, and translate results into clear next steps for the business.
Requirements
4+ years of experience blending growth marketing, demand generation, and technical execution at a fast-moving B2B or consumer technology company. Must be extremely AI-pilled, living in Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex. High agency and hands-on technically, biasing towards action and ship weekly. Comfortable with big, complex problems and excited about scaling challenges.
Qualifications
- Experience running growth programs at scale and building the attribution needed to prove impact.
- Comfortable turning rough ideas into usable content and directing designers or video partners to produce final assets.
- Experience in insurtech, fintech, or vertical SaaS is a plus.
- Experience inside an AI-native company and understanding of AI-native growth is a bonus.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on impact and urgency.
- Proficiency in marketing automation tools and CRM platforms.
